On Wednesday 7th February 2024, the three students who had qualified for places at the Ulsters, travelled to the City of Belfast Playing Fields at Mallusk.
They were Georgina competing in the Mini Girls for Year 8s, Hannah ran in the Minor Girls race for Year 9s and Rory in the Junior Boys for Year 10s.
Georgina ran 1600m in 6 minutes 49 seconds and she finished in Third place.
Hannah’s race was 2000m, which she did in 9:39.
Rory’s race was 3200m and he came Second in a time of 11:30.
This means that Rory qualifies for the All-Ireland Schools’ Cross-Country Championships, which this year will take place in Tymon Park, Tallaght, Dublin on Saturday 9th March.
Rory has also been selected to represent Northern Ireland Schools in the London Mini marathon championships on 20th April. Well done Rory and good luck in Dublin and London.
