Drama Trip to Venice Carnival

As A-level Drama students, we were so lucky to be able to take a trip to the Venice Carnivale, 2024. It was an amazing experience, and we saw incredible, fantastical costumes and Street Theatre performances with the beautiful city of Venice as the perfect backdrop. Being immersed in theatre all around us was incredible to witness and to be a part of. For me, the highlight was the walking tour around Venetian Theatres, with a local actor as our guide. We learned a lot about the historical parts of Venice and the rich culture of Commedia dell 'Art.

The food was incredible, the gondola ride was another amazing experience and Benito Rosato, one of the students on our trip celebrated his 18th birthday during the trip so we enjoyed a lovely dinner and then 'Benito Bonazo Bingo' later on, which was very hilarious. Mr Sames even took time to appreciate the local architecture!

I thoroughly enjoyed it and I am so grateful for opportunity to visit such a beautiful, culture-rich city.
