Belfast City Council’s second event of their Cross Country Challenge series was held on Thursday 23rd March 2023 at Mallusk Playing Fields.

This event provided an additional opportunity for pupils to experience cross country racing, particularly those who may not have qualified from their District Schools Championships. For those pupils who did qualify for the Ulster and/or Irish Schools Championships, this event was a further opportunity to develop within the sport.

 

Aquinas brought a squad of thirteen runners competing in Year 8 Mini Boys and Girls, Year 9 Minor Boys, Year 10 Junior Boys and Year 11 Inter Boys and Girls.

The race distances were 1 mile for Mini Boys, Mini Girls, and Minor Boys.

1.5 miles for Junior Boys and 2 miles for Inter Boys and Girls.

 

Everyone ran very well and enjoyed their day out despite the rain.
