Junior School students have been shortlisted for a World Health Organisation (WHO) Belfast Healthy City Award. Their nomination was for the Community Prosperity category for their engagement in the ‘My Dear New Friend’ project launched during lockdown. The students wrote letters to our neighbours, the residents of Nazareth House Care Village, to help keep people feeling connected during the time of global pandemic when everyone, young and old, was feeling isolated. The letters have continued on the students return to school while Covid mitigations continue to prevent a face-to-face visit. Project Co-ordinator and Deputy Head Girl, Olivia Feron, nominated the Junior students in recognition of their kindness in thinking of others. The winners of their category will be announced at an award ceremony on 10th December.
