We attended the Northern Ireland heat of the Lit Quiz which is run by the Quiz Master Wayne Mills, a New Zealander.  He travels the world to promote reading for pleasure and literacy. This is the link: https://www.kidslitquiz.com/home.php.

The competition was really tough but we placed in the top 10. We won 2 rounds and we scored 69/100. Congratulations!

Sophia Boyle won the 1st prize in the Japanese Manga poster competition. Well done Sophia!

Sophia Boyle in in the picture with Kelly McCaughrain. Kelly is the new Children’s Writing Fellow for Northern Ireland at the Seamus Heaney Centre, Queen’s University, Belfast.  She is also a Young Adult writer from Belfast.  She won the Children’s Books Ireland Eilis Dillon Award, Children’s Choice Award and Book of the Year Award 2019 and the Northern Ireland Book Award 2019. Her first novel, Flying Tips for Flightless Birds, was nominated for the Carnegie Medal.
