The Y14 A2 Sports Science class organised a Team Triathlon event as part of their coursework.

With the support of the shared education partnership with Wellington College, each school provided five teams of three and a reserve.

The planning for the event began in September and took place in Queens PEC on 15 December and received sponsorship from Bfit Belfast (based on the Ravenhill Road) and Glenn Grant from ChampionChip Ireland

The 10 minute swim leg saw Conor Doherty and Noel McGuigan from Aquinas giving their teams a good start but a fantastic cycle leg by Eamon Swail brought his team back almost neck and neck. Despite the best efforts of JJ Gracey in the 15 minute run, Eamon Swail’s team prevailed to win the event.

We would like to thank Queens PEC, Paul Murphy and Ian Galway from Bfit Belfast, Glen Grant from Championchip,  Mr Quinn from Aquinas and Mr Chambers from Wellington for their support for the event as well as the participants from each school and our own pupils who assisted in the running of the event on the day.

A special thanks to Mr McAufield, Mrs McCool and Ms Guiney for all their advice and guidance throughout the entire process.
