Year 11 Work Experience
With their GCSE modules completed, the Year 11’s are on a work placement for three days throughout Northern Ireland.
The aims of the programme should help students see what a chosen career could offer, allow students to gain a greater self-awareness, confidence and the sense of responsibility needed in work, enhance and develop a link between the “life at school” and the “world of work,” to facilitate an awareness of the real implications of career choice and provide a greater incentive and motivation to work in school.
The programme is now in its’ third year and continues to go from strength to strength. Pupils are experiencing the world of work in areas such as hospitality, sport and leisure, creative arts, law, engineering, teaching, media, finance, ICT and physiotherapy to name but a few.
The school is very grateful for the fantastic support offered by the many companies who have been so generous in giving their support in this extremely important aspect of the school curriculum.
