Participating in the ‘Top of the Bench’ quiz was a great experience.  The puzzles we had to solve involved the perfect mix combination of challenge and interest.  It was, altogether, very worthwhile.

As a group, the tasks we undertook were a theory test of somewhat obscure material, a series of experiments to be carried out (with time pressure), and a general knowledge quiz.  There was also a tour of the David Keir building of Queen’s University.  For any budding chemist, it could be brilliant for developing your skills while interacting with others.
