The ‘Big Bank Theory’
This year 8 pupils from Year 14 are taking in AIB Build a Bank Challenge which allows the students an opportunity to set up and run a bank with the full support of a dedicated First Trust Student Officer. The students get involved in everything from developing a Business Plan, branding their Bank and engaging with the community to sourcing new customers through creative marketing campaigns.
Their bank, ‘Big Bank Theory’ will be set up within the school with a focus on promoting STEM based subjects through engaging activities and events. The team are having their open day on Wednesday 14th December during both early and late lunch and this will allow students the opportunity to open their own bank account as well as be provided with information and guidance on savings.
For students wishing to open an account they’ll require:
– Proof of ID – Passport/Birth Certificate/Driving License
– Proof of address – Home Bill/Bank Statement
These current accounts that the group set up on behalf of the bank entitle the students to:
– Debit Card
– Online Banking
– Free £10 Amazon gift voucher when they deposit £10
As well as all other services provided by the First Trust Bank.
Please show your support for the group through like their Facebook page ‘Big Bank Theory’ and following them on Twitter @Big_BankTheory.
