Aquinas travelled to, and defeated, Castlederg comprehensively on Wednesday.

The boys got off to a flying start and within 10 minutes it was clear Aquinas were going to control this game. The Aquinas forwards were brutally clinical with hat-tricks from both Jack Toner, who tortured the opposition defence, and Matthew McDonnell. Emmett O’Brien also had a fine performance up front with a number of assists and also adding a goal to the tally. Eunan O’Hare and Lorcan Swail showed that Aquinas had strength throughout the side with a number of industrious runs down each wing. The two wide men provided terrific support for the forward players, whilst also tracking back to help out in defence as Aquinas moved to three at the back. Both Eunan and Lorcan rounded off fine displays with two goals apiece. Daniel Montgomery capped the game off with a fine finish as he soared forward from centre-back.

In all, it was a great performance right throughout the squad with Tom McCarroll showing real leadership in organising the defence and Jamie Cunningham controlling the midfield with great maturity.
