It’s at this time of year that a variety of awards and important events are celebrated in front of the entire school assembly. Today, the school publicly acknowledged the success of the Bro Nolan team who won the trophy in an exciting final against Lumen Christi College. This prestigious Ulster Colleges trophy was presented to Captain, Ben McMeekin at an event in the Europa Hotel a few weeks ago.

Recipients of House Awards were also acknowledged for the months of March and April and their achievements have helped their Houses progress up the league table, making the competition in the remaining weeks very interesting.

Another presentation was to Caoimhe Quinn who won the Soroptimist International public speaking competition in February, fending off finalists from various schools across Northern Ireland. She delivered an emotive speech on the NHS and then delivered an impromptu speech on the topic “My ambition is…” in front of a room of impressed judges and spectators.

Finally the school celebrated the handover of the outgoing Head boy, Head girl and Deputies to the new appointees for 2016-17. The calibre of all the young people who applied for these positions was very impressive and many congratulations and best wishes to the entire prefect team.
