This year’s Spring Concert took place in our Assembly Hall on Thursday evening, 7th April and for the Year 14 students it marked their final public performance in Aquinas. Many different orchestras, instrumental groups, choirs and soloists gave recitals that captivated their large audience which packed the school Hall.

Perhaps the most impressive performance of the evening was the forty minute choral piece, Antonio Vivaldi’s, Gloria which was performed flawlessly by Ms Gould’s musicians, namely the Chamber Choir accompanied brilliantly by the Senior String Ensemble.

At the conclusion of the evening, Ms Gould thanked everyone for their work and efforts all year, particularly the Year 14 pupils, of which there twenty four. The five A’-Level music pupils received particular gratitude for their contributions. Eva Maguire was nominated as the Orchestra leader for 2016-17 and she was presented with the perpetual violin which honours this appointment.

The evening ended with presentations from the Year 14 Music students to all the teaching staff and peripatetic teachers that help make Music the success it is in Aquinas.
