Aquinas Pupils produce outstanding performances at the Ulster Under Age Group Swimming Championships.

Over the weekend of the 27th – 29th March Mark Doherty, Ellen O’Neil and Conor Doherty competed in the UAG Championships at Bangor Aurora producing Ulster Title winning performances.

Mark Doherty was in top form in the 16 – 17 year old category winning Gold medals and Ulster Titles in the 100 and 200 Back Stroke, two Silver medals in team relay events and an individual Bronze medal in the 200 Breast Stroke.

Ellen O’Neil was also in great form in the 15 – 16 year old category obtaining individual Silver in the 100 Breast Stroke and two Silver medals in team relays.

Conor Doherty had extremely tough competition in the 13 year old age group but managed to have 5 personal best swims obtaining 3 national qualifying times.

Overall this was a very successful championships for the trio especially for Mark and Ellen who are in the middle of revision for GCSE’s.
