On Wednesday 10th February fourteen Aquinas Year 8 students competed in their first Camogie blitz at Victoria College. The girls played with immense enthusiasm and tenacity and this is particularly significant as ten of the players only began playing Camogie three weeks ago! The girls came runners up to hosts Victoria College.  The players were honoured to meet Camogie President Aileen Lawlor who presented Victoria with the winner’s shield. Aileen is due to complete her term of office in March but felt it important to see again the hard work that is taking place in Belfast to promote the sport before her term ends.  With such keen hardworking Yr 8s, Aquinas’ sporting future looks very bright! Well done girls!
