Ampleforth College’s Father Chad Visits Aquinas
Staff and pupils welcomed Father Chad from Ampleforth College (http://www.college.ampleforth.org.uk/) to the school today as part of a two day visit to Northern Ireland. Ampleforth is a private Catholic school in Northern England – just forty-five minutes from the city of York and is a place that Aquinas visited in 2002. This was a joint EMU rugby trip with Wellington College and the combined team played Ampleforth in a few matches. The College then made the return visit in 2003.
It was a pleasure therefore to welcome Father Chad today in order to rekindle the links between the two schools and share memories. Father Chad met the participants of the Rome Trip in the Chaplaincy and discussed the Benedictine influence in Monte Casino; a place that our students will visit this month.
