Yesterday we welcomed Joseph O’Neill, a development officer for Trocaire, to Aquinas. He came to recognise the achievements of the school’s Trocaire campaign and accepted a check for the sum of £10,173.50. He spoke about the importance and value of the work that Trocaire does, and explained the focus of this year’s campaign on water. He also thanked the Aquinas community for its generous donation and continued commitment to marginalised communities and empowering the voice of the poor in the world. Several students and teachers were also presented with  Trocaire solidarity awards which are extremely prestigious. A record of 24 Silver and 22 Gold awards were presented. Mr O’Neill also praised the work of the Fundraising committee in the school and for the level of knowledge awreness and empathy shown by all the pupils.
