Having won the regional heat of the Bar Mock Trial in Belfast in November, Aquinas travelled as Northern Ireland Champions to the national final in Cardiff.  The team performed brilliantly against very accomplished opposition comprising of schools from Scotland, England and Wales.  Aquinas had reached the national stage on two previous occasions and felt that surely this time their hard work and effort would pay off.

The team drew compliments from their opponents who commented on their ability to work together and communicate not to mention their polished and vibrant court performance and our expectations of reaching the final were rewarded when, at 2.30pm, Aquinas were drawn against Tunbridge Well Girls Grammar in the national final of the competition.

One hour later Aquinas was awarded the title of National Bar Mock Trial winners 2014. Aquinas is only the second school from Northern Ireland to have won the overall competition.  This was indeed, a fantastic achievement for all those concerned.
