On Tuesday 4th February 2014, Year Thirteen student Matthew McCrudden passed his final skills test making him a qualified Private Pilot. Matthew began flying lessons three years ago at the Ulster Flying Club, Newtownards.  Since then he has completed the Private Pilot’s License course which included seven theory exams, a radio exam and a stringent medical.  Matthew is now able to use his license to take family and friends flying and his license is valid anywhere in Europe.

Matthew is currently the youngest member of the Club to hold the license and he hopes to go on to pursue a career as an Airline Pilot. Matthew wishes to thank the instructors and staff at Ulster Flying Club for all their support. Many congratulations.
