Niamh McCrossan had a very successful day at the Dairy Council Young Cook of the Year Competition in Derry.

She was in the N.I. final as she had already won the BELB category. Yesterday she won the KS4 category and she also won overall Winner of the whole competition. This is a very prestigious award and a great achievement as there over 600 entries into the competition.

Her dishes were commended by the panel, which included Chef Ian Orr, of recent Great British Menu fame, who commented that one of her dishes was of “restaurant standard”.
