Every September the Geography Department takes the Year 12 GCSE class away for three days to Gortatole Outdoor Education Centre, eleven miles from Enniskillen, near Blacklion. The main aim of the study is to collect river data from the Aughinrawn /CladaghRiverwhich flows through MarbleArchCaves.

Not only is this important for GCSE Coursework, but it is also an opportunity for students to enjoy the outdoors and to enjoy their time together as a bunch of friends, away from school. The qualified instructors at the centre also lead the pupils in activities such as caving, rock climbing, abseiling, orienteering and other team games.

It is always a joy to bring students to this beautiful location; we all get so much out of it, teachers included!
