Kelly triumphs in Junior Golf Championship
Chris Kelly (10P) won the inaugural Aquinas Junior Golf Championship played at Ormeau Golf Club. His impressive 21 points on the challenging 9 hole course, saw him narrowly defeat Emmett Curran. Entry for this competition was open to all go
lfers in Years 8-10 and on the day each year group was represented in the winner’s enclosure. Eoin Nagle (Year 9) scored 20 points for a creditable third place and Conall McHugh (Year 8) won closest to the pin after a stunning shot on the short 4th hole. Other winners included Ronan Quinn (longest drive), Rory Henry (Year 8 Novice) and Michael Brown (Year 10 Novice). A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all in attendance, and sincere thanks must go to Ormeau Golf Club for the use of their facilities and for making the Aquinas Golf Society feel extremely welcome.
