María José Eguskiza from the Spanish Embassy Education Office in London came to visit the Spanish Department to present Amaia Moore with her prestigious 2nd place award in the UK Ruta Quetzal competition.  She commended Amaia on her achievement which assessed not only her linguistic ability in Spanish but also tested her social and communication skills.  This is a truly outstanding award and the Spanish department is very proud of Amaia’s achievement. It is certainly something which our younger pupils can aspire to in the future.    For more detailed information on this, please click here.

To welcome María José to Aquinas, 9J performed Little Red Riding Hood in Spanish, followed by poetry reading by Ryan Flynn and finally Tom O’Kelly sang a beautiful Spanish lullaby.  Pupils then got the opportunity to share their experiences with María José which ranged from the Spanish Exchange, the International House Spanish Summer School in Rockport and also the activities of the Aquinas Hispanic Society.
