Aquinas pupil scoops prestigious Art & Design Award
The winner of The Most Promising A2 Art & Design Student is Roisin Tinneny ofAquinasGrammar SchoolinBelfast– Roisin was presented with the prestigious award by Maggie Saunders of AADE (Association for Art and Design Education). This is the third award Roisin has won for her A Level work having already been declared ‘Joint Top Candidate’ by CCEA and being ‘Highly Commended’ by The Arts Society of Ulster.
Roisin who is now studying in Mackintosh School of Architecture in Glasgow said,”I am delighted to receive such an accolade, it is very special and means a lot to me – I must also give credit to the high quality of teaching in Aquinas’ Art & Design Department, my teachers have encouraged and nurtured my skills in art right from Year 8.”
Roisin’s award-winning A2 exhibition was displayed in the Ulster Museum as part of the CCEA annual ‘True Colours’ exhibition which profiled the best and most interesting pieces of work from candidates across Northern Ireland.
