Brave Aquinas battle back for vital win!
The Year 10 Gaelic team produced a brilliant fightback against St. Joseph’s Donaghmore to earn a place in the quarter-finals. Having fallen behind by 6 points early in the first half, Aquinas rallied with scores from Michael Brown, Brendan Stewart and a major from Faolan McCambridge leaving them only 2 points down at the break. With conditions worsening Aquinas dominated the second half, Brendan Gallen in particular outstanding in defence. Daire McGorrian and Eoin Nagle featured strongly and both were involved in teeing Ronan Quinn up for the winning goal. The boys can now look forward to the knock-out stages in the New Year and recent performances would suggest that they have every chance of extending their winning streak!
