Double defeat & lessons learned
In the last two weeks our Year 9 & U18 soccer teams have lost friendly games to Rathmore. The Year 9 team lost 2-1 at home despite going a goal up in the first half and the U18s lost 2-0 at Rathmore yesterday in spite of having dominated the first half and squandering enough opportunities to have won the game.
Nonetheless great lessons were learned in these two friendlies. A full panel of players was used to ensure everyone got a game and although this disrupted the flow in the second half of both games it provided great insight into how the teams should line up in the forthcoming coming cup games. In particular, Jake Carlin, Eoin Nagle and Oliver McGowan were excellent for the Year 9s and James Lawler and Joe Shields stood out for the U18s.
We wish the boys the best of luck in the Belfast and NI Cups!
