Katie Campbell, Rachel Goldsmith, Shane Kidney, Peter McKenna, Moya McQuillan and Joseph Morrison  have been selected to be part of the Saphara Belfast team preparing for their trip to India on 15 July this year.

The 16 day trip in July 2011 will focus on working with disadvantaged children in India through Irish-linked charities. The location will be Dehradun and Mussoorie in the foothills of the Himalayas.

The trip will consist of a:

  • Weekend in Delhi – orientation, sightseeing, and shopping with a trip to see the Taj Mahal;
  • Week teaching children in hill village school in Mussoorie;
  • Global Awareness Weekend with trekking in the Himalayas;
  • Week in Dehradun teaching in a school for children from the marginalized urban community;
  • Weekend in Delhi
