Seven Aquinas students have accepted a place in the prestigious Ulster Youth Choir and Training Choir this year, an amazing achievement!

The talented young singers are sopranos Rose Lynch, Tara Lally, Ciara Power;  alto Caoimhe McCarthy and basses Ben McDaid, Eoin McCrossan and Brian McAlea. They participated in a rigorous audition last month and were  recently notified that they had been successful.  This means that they will join other talented young singers from across Northern Ireland in a series of workshops, rehearsals and performances over the summer. The choirs are directed and conducted by Greg Beardsall, who also directs the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and they will gain so much from his expertise and experience.

Three other students were also offerered places but unfortunately have had to decline due to family commitments.  They are Rosie Murray, Roisin McAllister and John Gillen.  They are very disappointed at having to miss such a unique opportunity but they join everyone in the music department in congratulating and wishing our students well in their musical endeavours. All ten students sing in the Senior and Chamber Choirs and several also perform with musical groups and societies outside of school. We are extremely proud of all of them and  want to wish them lots of luck!
