At the end of September 2010, the Year 12 Geography classes embarked on  a three day residential to the Gortatole, Co Fermanagh.  The three days were structured as follows:

MONDAY Arrival at 12 noonAfternoon: gear issue.  Familiarisation of measuring equipment and preliminary visit to river

Evening activities in Gym and Common Room

TUESDAY Morning and afternoon: make packed lunch then out to River Clady for data collection.Evening: collate data, then activities in Gym, climbing wall course and Common Room.
WEDNESDAY Choice between high ropes course or caving expedition, all led by centre leadersArrive back at Aquinas at 5pm

All the Year 12’s enjoyed the three days away and some of their comments included:

“ The caving was amazing, at one point, I was up to my neck in water!”

“ I actually enjoyed the fieldwork, I didn’t think I was going to….”

“The food was class”

“The climbing wall was awesome, scary at first but the instructor was good”
