A’ Level Fieldwork in Snowdonia National Park, Wales
The Year 13’s enjoyed a worthwhile experience carrying out fieldwork in Wales, last February, 2010. They spent the weekend in a purpose built outdoor centre and visited lots of ‘Honeypot’ tourist sites around Snowdonia National Park. The scenery was breathtaking and, as you can see, the weather was fantastic.
The students’ job was to interview a sample of tourists to find out their views on the National Park as a destination, but more particularly how it was managed. Before venturing to the Park, the class listened to an interesting talk from a National Park manager and found out many of the issues that they have to deal with in the area such as: footpath erosion; cars and car parking and at the same time protecting the beauty of the area.
