The Y13 Digital Technology class recently spent a day in the Google offices in Dublin.  The visit was organised by Ms McGowan and Mr McAufield.

Conor Lilly, class of 2003, works for the company as a recruitment manager and had also attended the careers insight evening in 2016 in the school and was instrumental in helping out his alma mater.  Conor played basketball while in Aquinas and was a key member of the U19 All Ireland final team.

As well as getting a fantastic lunch and a tour of the buildings, Conor and other members of Google spoke to the pupils about their background and how they came to work for the company.  There are currently 5,500 employees based in Dublin from over 50 different nationalities around the world.   The opportunities for working in Google are not only in Technology but in other areas such as law, finance and human resources to name but a few.  Students can also take the opportunity to avail of summer internships while studying at university.

This was an outstanding experience for pupils and teachers and is one which will hopefully become an annual event for Aquinas Diocesan Grammar School.
