  • This paper is 1hr 15mins
  • It is two sections. Answer all the questions.
  • Section A is a source based question. Revise up to and including the building of the Berlin Wall to adequately address this question.
    • There are four sources and four questions – 4,6, 8 & 10 marks.
    • Section A is worth a total of 28 marks and you should spend approx 40mins.
  • Section B is  an essay worth 22 marks.
    • The essay comprises all you have learned about The Cold War in Europe 1945-1961.
    • Focus on the USSR’s actions in Eastern Europe up to and including the building of the Berlin Wall.
    • Also learn how the USA reacted to each of the USSR’s actions and how this intensified Cold War between them.
    • Remember this question is about actions taken, mistrust growing  & relations deteriorating.
    • Spend 35mins on this essay.
